Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Argent, a sword Or garnished Gules, entwined by a wyvern of the like garnished of the second. Attached below the shield is a blue scroll doubled with a red diamond, entwined by a red wyvern detailed and enflamed, all enclosed at bottom by a blue scroll inscribed "INTREPID DEEDS" in gold letters.

Symbolism
The sword and wyvern, adapted from the Idaho Military Academy, highlight the unit's heritage. The wyvern is entwined with the sword to symbolize military preparedness.

This insignia was approved on 23 Mar 1998.
